2019 Tampa Bay Regional Envirothon
“Agriculture and the environment: knowledge and technology to feed the world”
The Envirothon allows high school students from Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties to apply in-class environmental education as they compete as a team to resolve environmental issues in the field relating to five environmental disciplines: aquatics, wildlife, soils & land use, forestry, and current issue. The winning team progresses to the state contest.
The 2019 Tampa Bay Regional Envirothon will be held at Hillsborough River State Park on April 4th, 2019. Students and educators should expect to arrive by 8:00 AM for registration (breakfast will be provided). Lunch and awards will conclude by 2 PM.
Please contact Betty Jo Tompkins at (813) 752-1474, x. 3; or soilandwater@HCFLGov.net with any questions prior to the event.
The Envirothon will run from 8AM - 2PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
It is imperative that students wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, as this is both a lab setting and an outdoor event. Please see the full list of Envirothon rules, which are in place to keep students safe and the event proceedings fair.
